Buffalo is nicknamed the city of Good Neighbors and the Queen City. It is the second largest city in New York State coming in right after New York City. Buffalo has been booming since the 19th century with the construction of the Erie Canal, rail roads, and Lake Erie all of which factored into bringing an abundance of freshwater and a trade route to the Midwest in the 20th century. Since the 20th century, millions have flocked to our great city and have settled down raising families.
